Some of you may remember my post from a few posts ago whining about my apron situation. In one of those middle of the night flashes of creative genius, I got the idea to do a Design Your Own Apron, as my submission to the apron contest at my quilt store.
I created a worksheet where you can plug in your measurements and from there you will be able to cut out your apron to your size. I'm calling the apron itself "It's A Party".
I used Glace by 3 Sisters for Moda and to me it said "fancy, party type apron." My project needed a potholder, too, because the fabric is a pleasure to sew with. I'll probably need to make a table runner as well because I do have plenty of fabric and like I said it's a pleasure to sew with.
The model - well, she doesn't really cook, so will never have need for an apron. But when you're family it is always in your best interest to do what mom says and if that is please put this apron on and model it for me in the kitchen where you really never cook because mixing couscous and water in a pot with a lid and turning the stove on High does not count as cooking.
I am happy to be able to cross that project off my list!
And now I think I just might have to go wake the model up and see if I can bribe talk her into driving out to Target to get the Coraline DVD that was released today. I never saw it and am looking forward to it.
Now that's a very good idea because let's face it, not everyone's measurements are the same! Is this something you'll be selling? Because I would definitely be interested. The last thing you want to do is insult someone and I think we can pretty much guestimate someone elses measurments...pretty much anyway.
And so what if your model doesn't cook. She's cute, and that's what counts.
