. . . and so many more to go.
I started this blanket for my Teen Boy child well before Christmas with the full intention of having it all tied with a gross grain ribbon under the tree on Christmas morning. As the holidays approached and the priority list grew longer and more priority-y, the blanket was put on the back burner, or actually placed in the Rubbermaid bin of Gotta Finish This Sometime projects.
There is no rhymn or reason to this one. Batik squares backed with Sherpa fleece. It measures probably about 55" w x 70" l. Just big enough to wrap up in while watching TV or hanging out. The Sherpa has a considerable amount of stretch to it so sewing it to the cotton was a bit of a challenge. I ended up using my serger and adjusting the settings for maximum stretch. Ran a topstich around the edge using a varigated thread.
I don't think this one will win any awards for expert construction, but my ocean loving surfer boy just loves it and that's all that matters.
No doubt he loves it!!! It's gorgeous!!!!

It's not so easy to make things for boys, so it's great you made this for him. It's perfect!

Great colors, and that turtle fabric is very fun! I'm sure he'll love it.

Isn't it nice to make exactly what he likes? It has a very ocean feel too it. What a nice mom you are.
