More For The Wrist

I think this new pastel wristlet is so pretty.  (This photo does not do the colors justice.)

 

It looks so spring-like, although I am sure that the new colors for spring are not pastel.  I don't know what they are (yellow? purple?), but the Queen of Fashion that reigns in this house will be quick to correct me, I am sure.

This one is going to the quilt shop but I may just have to make another for myself - proper spring color palette or not.

Just For The Wrist

A while ago, I guess quite a while ago by the date on this post, I was in the wristlet making mode.

Recently, we were brainstorming for some upcoming quilt shows, looking for quick and easy projects. I pulled out my wristlet patterns, sewed, tweaked, wrote and rewrote and developed my new finished and complete wristlets and wristlet pattern.

And now I have been packing kits!  The kits include the pattern, batting, all fabric and hardware (includes swivel hook, dee ring, rivet and 4-prong snap) and sell for under $20.00. 

 

Fingers are crossed that these sell well at the quilt shows.

They have been selling well in the quilt shop and I'm teaching a class next week. The class includes a Bonus pattern for a card wallet - something simple you can carry your debit card and some cash (except I never have cash - I have children instead). 

What's In A Name?

I finally tackled the job of updating my whole blog format, adding new links (although I know I don't have them all) and was even able to figure out how to put an Etsy link in the sidebar (and no, it isn't hard - you just have to read the directions - one of those things I don't excel at).  Thanks to all who shared their links with me.

I also decided to change the name on the blog.  When I first started a blog a few years ago I wanted to share my sewing and knitting projects with others.  I enjoy looking at what others create and thought I'd throw my creations out there too.  In The Bag was a good enough name for a blog about sewing purses and bags.  Once I created my own patterns, though, I knew I wanted a more personal name on my patterns and in the Etsy shop and finally (after much family debate and ridiculous suggestions) became D Whynn Designs (a combination of my first initial and middle name).

Just figured that the blog should match everything else and thus the name change.  The blog is still located at the same address so links don't change.

New projects to share but the clock says I should go to work ---- in the rain.  Ten preschoolers in the rain means the first question I will be asked this morning will be "Are we going to the playground?"  And I will answer with "Look out the window and tell me what you think."  And the reply will be "But it's raining, so we can't go to the playground?"  (Yes, still a question).

And then that whole conversation will be repeated nine more times!
