I think it is lovely and rather like the way I make many of my bags. They are perfect for young people, either with straps long enough to go over the shoulder or across the body. You have good taste and I am sure the bag will become a success. Cherrie

I do like it:)You have stared at it too long:) You said you didn't like the proportions...My thoughts..If you want it taller looking make the straps the same as the main material. If you want the bag to have more presence make the straps the same as the bottom. My 2 cents. Worth absolutely nothing:)except maybe 2 cents...
I have spent more wasted time "trying" new shapes!!:)as well..arrgg!! It is good to not be alone:) Keep up the good work!Laura
